The Student Branch of Computer Society of India(CSI) of Mukesh Patel School Technology Management & Engineering, NMIMS University Chapter is very active in organizing various events at college for students. Workshop conducted by Microsoft on topic MS-SIG, in which more than 60 people attended the workshop and was highly appreciated by students. There was also a workshop conducted called “Robokriti” which was basically on Robotics, it was a two day workshop conducted by Technophila; in which practical robots were made working on voice-recognition , P.C. control , wireless etc. CSI in association with Croma organized a Technical Fest called as “TAQNEEQ” for the first time. It was a grand event in which many colleges participated. Events such as Technical Atelier, Fun With Technology , Innovation Ajar , Corporate Social Responsibility , Guest Speak, etc.The Total prize was worth Rs. 1 lac. It was a major grand success for CSI Student Branch, as huge participation was seen frommany colleges.Many such other workshops and Lectures were also conducted by CSI in college on regular intervals.
The mission of the CSI India is to facilitate research, knowledge sharing, learning and career enhancement for all categories of IT professionals, while simultaneously inspiring and nurturing new entrants into the industry and helping them to integrate into the IT community. The CSI is also working closely with other industry associations, government bodies and academia to ensure that the benefits of IT advancement ultimately percolate down to every single citizen of India.
A Chapter of the Society is a group of members in a particular locality or city. The chapters play a major role in achieving the objectives of the Society. It has direct links with the members. For the benefit of members, the chapter organizes monthly technical meetings, product presentations, exhibitions, film and video shows. The chapters also host Regional, Divisional, National, International events along with the sponsoring agencies.
Being closely associated with students, the Society has developed a well-established network of "Student Branches" all across the country. The activities conducted for the students associated with the Society include lecture meetings, seminars, conferences, training programmes, programming contests and practical visits to installations. CSI has a strong Educational Directorate which undertakes activities related to Certification of professionals related to the latest technologies. It's recent initiative of distance education in the Business Domain areas offers technology enabled learning supported by personal counseling & expert advice. In an ever changing environment, CSI offers professional counseling being a great need of the hour. And this is done by being in close contact with its young members through various events, conferences and symposia.
